Getting busy with the fizzy

Few more teaser shots of our new project, we're getting pretty excited over here. Bit fuzzy, taken with my iPhone but want to keep the overall item a surprise.

Con2001 Monolith

Ok, we have this rather large piece of black acrylic, it measures 40" x 60" and we cannot decide what to do with it? I like the idea of using it to create a series of photographs, this being a large black mirror type device, much like in the image below. Other creatives here think it would be good to engrave into it, what, we don't know? Have any of you folks out there go any thoughts as to what we can do with it? Is there anyone out there?

Instant images

Wow, just discovered this, it's brilliant. Polaroid images. Thanks to Swissmiss for the heads up.
I have been trying to get a Polaroid Land Camera SX-70 for ages, in fact my ebay is full of failed and missed bids, but until I do succeed, I now have this, and you can save shots as they develop.
For extra wow factor I am gonna scan some of my cross process images and see how they look.

Swifty Pop

Today I visited the Red Dot Art Fair for the sole purpose of seeing work of Ian 'Swifty' Swift. More known for his sharp and funky graphic work as Swifty Typograffix, this was his take on PopArt and what Pop means to him. The work was great and had strong links to Jasper Johns, Warhol et al, but with a phunky twist. There was a shop front containing cool stuff collected over the years, it's pictured above with the man himself. It was great to talk to a person who was so integral in my decision to become a graphic designer. It was really interesting to see how he was approaching his visual take on Pop Art and how you can see tie in to his graphic work and also how he is moving it forward in a more subtle way. Open House 08

I have been a fan of Architecture and building for a very long time, in fact, I wanted to be one when I was a lad, but didn't really have the scholastic abilities to make it. This has not dampened my enthusiasm, and I make an effort to look around the Open House tours every year. This year, I came across a fantastic find, something that appealed to me, as much as the architecture.... Stone carving!

In the crypt of a church, they do stone carving classes, I am very interested in checking this out, I have visions of becoming the naughties Eric Gill! Ok, so I exaggerate, but I really am very excited by this, I think it could be an amazing experience, so I will keep you informed of any progress made.
